The Society of Interior Designers of Australia (SIDA) was founded in 1951 with the desire to advance the art of interior design services to the public, as well as assisting designers just entering the field. Since the disestablishment of SIDA in the 1990s, The SIDA Foundation has managed the remaining resources of SIDA with the aim of furthering interior design education and practice. The SIDA Foundation has provided funding for a UniSA scholarship to support interior design PhD students. The establishment of The SIDA Foundation PhD Scholarship will support the development of PhD qualified practitioners and academics with expertise in the field of interior design. The SIDA Foundation PhD Scholarship is available to commencing full-time Doctorate by Research students enrolled at the University of South Australia studying in the field of interior design.
