The Northern Territory's Gender Equality Statement of Commitment recognises improving women's economic security as a key factor in improving gender equality for Territorians. Some cohorts of women can be particularly vulnerable to economic insecurity, including young mothers and older women. Reducing gender inequality in education and workforce participation will assist Territory women to maintain a sufficient income throughout all stages of life The Minister for Women's Scholarships - Higher Education is intended to provide financial support to women in the Northern Territory to undertake study to enhance their employment, economic security and general life outcomes.
