The aim of the Award is to promote Australias engagement with Southeast Asia and/or Southeast Asias engagement with Australia. Funding for this Award has been provided by friends, family and colleagues in memory of the late Emeritus Professor Jamie Mackie, scholar, mentor, advocate and pioneer in our collective understanding of Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The endowment promotes Jamies lifelong passions: Indonesia and Southeast Asia, Australias engagement in our region and racial respect and tolerance.
