Course Details

The Master of Networking (MNet) has now added two areas of specialisation such as Cyber Security and Cloud Networking which allows students to update their knowledge and skills and gain commercially valuable experience in networking and system administration, opening doors to a range of new career opportunities. The course aims to provide students with a strong foundation and in depth knowledge in network management, system administration and network security. It further aims to give students in-depth knowledge and skills in one or more of the following: cloud networks, cyber security and system analysis. The course also emphasises the development of key employability skills such as communication, collaboration and project management through studio based and project-based learning. Hands-on practical work with Cisco, Microsoft and Riverbed Networking technology is an essential part of the course. Most importantly, students are applying skills and knowledge onto real world businesses through case studies.

Qualification: Master Degree (By Coursework)

Course structure: Each MNet unit is 20 credit points. A full-time study load is 60 credit points per trimester. MNet has two streams; students with a bachelor degree in Information Technology or related disciplines will enrol in the cognate stream. All other students will enrol in the non-cognate stream. The electives in the cognate stream may make up a specialisation such as Cyber Security, Cloud Networks or Systems Analysis
