Course Details
The Master of Engineering program provides advanced study in mining engineering, with various entry points and pathways of study depending on the student's background. Designed to cater for people with an engineering or technical background, the program can be undertaken on a part-time or full-time basis. The program provides an opportunity for mining engineering graduates and minerals industry professionals to continue their professional development in specialised areas.
Qualification: Master Degree (By Coursework)
Course structure: 72 Units of Credit points of coursework, either full-time or part-time. A majority of the courses will be offered as modules over a short block period to permit employees of mining companies and associated service providers to attend on a part-time basis. Please note that some electives may only be offered every two years. Two specialisation streams are offered in this program: The first stream is Master of Mining Engineering (Mine Geomechanics) Plan - 5 core courses and 7 electives (total of 72 UOC). The second stream is Master of Mining Engineering (Mine Management) Plan - 7 core courses and 5 electives (total of 72 UOC)
International students will be required to submit to the Program Authority, a proposed plan listing courses for each semester of their program. Signed approval by the Program Authority is required prior to commencement of the program. The approved plan is to list courses completed as block intensive mode or distance mode, and to ensure that the total number of distance mode courses is no more than 1.
