Master of Engineering Management / Master of Business Administration

Course Details

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and the Faculty of Business have developed this master's degree that provides all the advantages of a generalist Master of Business Administration with a focused engineering management program. The subjects offered in this course follow an integrated approach to professional practice through compulsory engineering management/professional engineering subjects, compulsory subjects relevant to business administration and an independent engineering graduate project in engineering management. This program allows students to complete the Master of Engineering Management and Master of Business Administration in two years of full-time study. This unique course is for students who have a bachelor's in engineering and who want to combine a Master of Engineering Management with a Master of Business Administration.

Qualification: Master Degree (By Coursework)

Course structure: The course structure is prescribed and follows strict guidelines agreed by both faculties. Students complete 48 credit points of engineering management/professional engineering subjects and 48 credit points of business administration subjects. There are no elective options in this course. In order to receive two qualifications within two years, students are required to stay enrolled in the course for all two years of full-time study. Students cannot exit the course after one year with a Master of Engineering Management or complete the Master of Engineering Management (totalling 72 credit points) and expect to complete 24 credit points in this course to receive a Master of Business Administration.

Domestic students can complete the same course of study by enrolling in the Master of Engineering Management and then the Master of Business Administration (Technology Management major).
