Master of Divinity

Course Details

The SMBC Master of Divinity (MDiv) is designed to prepare you for full-time vocational ministry. At AQF level 9, it’s ideal for those who already have a non-theological undergraduate degree. It can be studied full-time or part-time. The Master of Divinity will give you comprehensive biblical foundations (Old Testament and New Testament) along with deeper study of theology, ethics, church history, missions, preaching and pastoral care. It also provides electives to allow you to choose areas to specialise in and opportunities to integrate your studies with the contemporary world. A requirement of this course is study of the biblical languages. Note: Whilst covering the same content as the Bachelor degrees, the MDiv academic assessments are at a higher level and offer the possibility of an accelerated pathway to higher degrees by research.
