RMIT University
Course Details
The Master of Applied Science (Acupuncture) incorporates Western medicine diagnosis with Chinese medicine theory. A strong focus on evidence-based medicine is combined with the philosophical and cultural aspects of tradtional Chinese medicine. Extensive clinical observation and practice is part of the degree, with students having access to RMITs Health Sciences Clinic and Chinese medicine hospitals overseas. The Master of Applied Science (Acupuncture) qualifies you for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Qualification: Master Degree (By Coursework)
In addition to standard entry requirements, competence in the area of physical examination and broad areas of diagnosis is also required to facilitate safe practice when employing Acupuncture as a primary modality of care. Minor inadequacies in respect to this area may be overcome by bridging courses in Diagnosis and Differential Diagnosis in Western Medicine concurrent with the Acupuncture courses during the first year of study.
