It provides foundation knowledge in the areas of accounting, finance, economics and law. As this course articulates into the masters programs in professional accounting, this enables students who do not possess formal undergraduate qualifications, including TAFE diplomats, to acquire the relevant academic qualification for membership of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). The course comprises a mix of accounting, finance and related subjects which collectively provide a range of essential business skills and knowledge that are necessary for managerial-level employment in todays dynamic business environment. Career options include management-level positions in industry or government, as well as not-for-profit organisations.
