You can choose units to develop skills in security, LAN and wireless network design, global network design or network management. This specialisation will also prepare you to sit one or more industry certification exams. These include Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Managing Cisco Network Security (MCNS) and Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Advanced (CSPFA).
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to apply for the Master of Information Technology.

As a graduate of the Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Networking, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of roles concerned with network performance and security. You could work in a range of public and private organisations such as network service providers, banking and finance organisations or the government and military. Careers could include:
Independent Network and Security Consultant
This degree can prepare you for industry certification exams. These include Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Managing Cisco Network Security (MCNS) and Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Advanced (CSPFA).
Recognised Australian Computer Society (ACS) -accredited Bachelor's degree in IT (AQF Level 7); OR recognised Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) plus an approved qualification in IT (AQF Level 8); OR recognised Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) plus two years of relevant IT experience; OR recognised Honours degree (AQF Level 8) plus relevant IT experience. Recognition of relevant and current informal or non-formal learning may be used for entry requirements, and should be discussed with the Academic Chair. Students who have completed the BSc in Internetworking and Security may not enrol in this course.
English Language requirements: IELTS overall 6.0 with no band below 6.0; CAE - 169 overall with no band below 169; PTE - 50 with no band below 50; TOEFL IBT - 73 with no band less than 18; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Paper Based (TOEFL - Paper Based) - 534 (Test of Written English not less than 4.5); OET - OET with a minimum of C (250-290) in each of the four components.
