Course Details

The Bachelor of Medical Science Bachelor of Business is designed to produce graduates who are prepared for scientific practice or business and management in health and medical businesses or institutions. The aim of this combined degree is to produce graduates with professional qualifications in both medical science and business, so they can practise in both areas. Graduates who can cross the divide between medical science and business are highly sought-after by employers because they not only have scientific and business skills, but they also have transferable skills such as analytical, critical thinking and communication skills. The course offers opportunities in the growth area of health services and management.

Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Pass)

Course structure: Students are required to complete 192 credit points of study, comprising 96 credit points of medical science subjects and 96 credit points of business subjects. Students have the option of transferring to the Bachelor of Medical Science or the Bachelor of Business if they wish to graduate early. The course is offered over four years full time. Full-time attendance is approximately 20 hours each week on campus. Students may also complete the course part-time, usually at the rate of two subjects a session (a 50 per cent load), taking eight years to complete. Part-time students may need to attend science classes for at least one half-day a week, in addition to evening classes.
