By studying the Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours), you will become an engineer capable of solving the world’s greatest challenges. Mechatronics engineering involves the synergy of electrical, computer and mechanical technologies that lead to new solutions to industrial problems. Students study a diverse range of courses like technical design, automation, and operational performance of electromechanical systems. Mechatronics engineers work in industries such as defence, advanced manufacturing, mining and health. As an engineer, you might develop companion robots to help care for our aging population. You could design drones that assist in search and rescue operations following a natural disaster. Or you could join our team of precision mechatronics researchers and work on medical solutions such as the endoscopic ‘pill robot’ for non-invasive 3D imaging and intervention.
Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Honours)
Course structure: The Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours) is a four year program, students are required to complete 320 units, which is comprised of: 290 units of Core Courses; and 0-unit compulsory Industrial Experience 10 units of Course list 20 units of Elective Courses No more than 120 units can be taken at 1000 level; and at least 40 units must be taken at each level from the 2000 level and above for this program.
