The combined Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) will enable students with strong skills in Mathematics and a passion for one of the wide range of majors available in the Bachelor of Arts to combine their interests and enhance their studies. Mathematics is humanity's most powerful tool for comprehending the universe and is essential for many fields of modern endeavour such as science, technology, engineering, biology, finance, computing, etc. It also underlies data analysis, forecasting, modelling, decision-making and problem-solving principles. Mathematicians contribute creatively to almost every aspect of modern life. The Bachelor of Arts features diverse majors from music and design to European and Asian languages, humanities and social sciences. This degree provides students with the lifelong, transferable skills that employers are seeking, giving an immediate competitive edge in the employment market. Combining the BMath and the BA provides the opportunity for high achieving students with specific interests and strengths in the Humanities and Social Sciences, music or languages to achieve both a BMath and a BA within a four year study period.
Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Pass)
Course structure: 192 points comprising 32 six-point units. Students normally take eight units each year, four in each semester.
