Course Details
Exercise scientists apply the science of exercise to improve human health, fitness and performance. They design, implement and evaluate exercise and physical activity programs for a wide range of people within the community. These professionals provide programs for improving general health, the prevention of chronic diseases and injury, and enhanced sports performance. The Bachelor of Exercise Science will prepare you for a career in sporting organisations, education, community and corporate health units, and gymnasiums. Throughout this degree, you will study anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, exercise prescription, nutrition, psychology, neuromechanics, and biomechanics. These core subjects are designed to deepen your understanding of how exercise affects the body, and how to use evidence-based practices and a person centred approach to prescribe exercise safely and effectively. This knowledge is aimed at improving fitness, performance and health outcomes and the quality of life of those you will serve.
