What the job involves

• Sets up and supervises the operation of automatic binding and finishing equipment

• Binds full, half and limp-bound books, and repairs bindings

• Folds, collates and sews signatures by machine and hand

• Operates paper guillotines for pre-press and post-press paper cutting and trimming, and programmes electronically-operated units

• Operates systems to insert printed material into newspapers, magazines and envelopes

• Embellishes printed products automatically and manually
